A missing card is stressful, but the first ten minutes are simple if you do them in order.

Minute one: freeze it

Freeze the card from the app. A frozen card declines new payments but keeps its history and rules, so nothing is lost if it turns up in a coat pocket.

Minutes two to five: check recent payments

Look through the last few days of payments. Anything you do not recognise can be flagged straight from the list.

Minutes six to ten: order a replacement

Order a new card with the same limits and budgets. A virtual card is ready at once, so work does not stop while the plastic is on its way.

“Freeze first, think second. You can always unfreeze.”
